Paula made a shepherd’s pie for dinner tonight. She has her own recipe (that she has adjusted from the Better Homes and Garden’s Cookbook). The ground beef and vegetables in a terrific brown gravy is so yummy. She tops it with some mashed potatoes and it just hits the spot when the weather gets cold. There are lots of recipes for this dish. Paula’s version requires that you cook the ground beef, add a can of mixed vegetables, and make a brown gravy. All of this is mixed together. She then makes a batch of creamy mashed potatoes and spreads this on top. All of it is baked in the oven until the potatoes get crispy. This is one of our favorite dishes when fall and winter weather finally shows up.
