Theodore and I made Pasticcio tonight. We usually make this meal just once a year on Christmas Eve but this past Christmas, Ron and Donna were not feeling well so they could not enjoy it with us. We had so much leftover that we just saved the extra meatballs and tortellini and ragu in the freezer. Since we are usually so busy, we figured out a date for the two of them to come over and then made the dish. This past Saturday was one week after Donna’s birthday so we celebrated Christmas Eve late, celebrated Donna’s birthday late and just enjoyed each others company.  All in all, it was a treat for all of us. Kinda like having a holiday in the middle of a cold month. (By the way, if  you want to learn more about Pasticcio, read my blog entry for December or check out this link: Pasticcio, courtesy of Mario Batali and the Food Network.
