Theodore picked out this recipe for dinner tonight. Sweet and Spicy Beans. It was in the Taste of Home Recipes of 2013 book. The meal was really easy to make and that came in handy today since we were trying to make several other dishes to prepare for the week.

In a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker, combine 1 can drained kidney beans, 1 can drained whole kernel corn, 1 can drained garbanzo beans, 1 can drained black beans, 1 can chili with beans, 1 cup barbecue sauce, 1 cup salsa, 1/3 cup packed brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of hot pepper sauce. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours. Top with chopped green onions if desired.

We had this dish with some fresh bread and it was quite tasty. A good dish for cold winter afternoon…
