Carrboro High School celebrated “Culturefest” tonight. Theodore made some Cincinnati chili for the event since we needed to bring a main dish. It was really delicious, especially since it gets better when it sits for a little while. We learned about Cincinnati chili when we made our cross country trip a few years ago. There is something about enjoying chili with spaghetti and since winter is now here, chili was a great dish to bring tonight.

Theodore makes it quite simple. He browns a pound of ground beef and removes the fat. Then he adds a can of kidney beans and a can of black beans along with a can of diced tomatoes and some tomato sauce. At this point he adds various spices that include chili powder and some chopped jalapenos. I am not sure what else he adds but it ends up tasting quite good.

I am guessing that everyone that attended Culturefest enjoyed the chili since we did not bring any home!
