Paula made chili last week and we kept it in the freezer until tonight. We were out of town last weekend and we knew that we would not have time to buy groceries or prepare any meals. Additionally, Paula was going to be working each evening when we returned and would not have a lot of time to do any cooking. As a result, Paula and I planned ahead and cooked up this chili for us to enjoy on today and again this coming Friday.

Paula used her standby recipe of chili. First she cooked up 2 pounds of ground beef in a skillet. Then she mixed the meat with 1 28-ounce can of diced tomatoes and 2 14.5-ounce cans of kidney beans. She added 1 tablespoon of chili powder and 1 teaspoon of dried basil. Then she puts it in the slow-cooker for 4-5 hours and lets the flavors come together.

Easy and delicious!!
